Principled Business Leadership Institute


Alpha Kappa Psi is elevating the learning experience for our members in the areas of leadership and business practices. Held in 6 different cities across the country, the 2016 Principled Business Leadership Institute offers individuals a structured program focusing on professional skill building at the individual level, while allowing for the opportunity to network with other members and business professionals. Attendees will participate in close-knit group conversation throughout the event as well as a curriculum grounded in the the Fraternity’s learning modelCore Values and Guiding Principles.

AKPsi has a block of rooms reserved for its members and guests. However, room availability is only guaranteed through the reservation cut-off date listed for each specific hotel. After the cut-off date, the hotel will continue to accept reservations at the special rate provided there are remaining guest rooms in our room block. Once the block is full, whether it is before or after the cut-off date, regular hotel rates will be in effect.

Room types (especially those that sleep four to a room) are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Attendees must provide photo ID on-site at each hotel in order to check-in and receive keys to their rooms. Photo ID must match name on room reservation or access to the hotel may be denied.

Attendees are responsible for contacting the hotel directly to arrange accommodations. All reservation requests will require a one-night-stay deposit.

Participants are expected to comply with the Alpha Kappa Psi Risk Management Policies, state and local laws as well as guest policies of the hotel.

  • Onsite - $159 per person

Life Loyal Members - Take $10 off above registration rates

Student: All registrations and payments will be processed through chapter account at the Heritage Center
Alumni & Guest: Full payment must be received in order for registration to be official and processed

Above rates includes entry to all general sessions and breakouts on Friday and Saturday, lunch and dinner on Saturday and closing session on Saturday evening. Rate does not include hotel accommodations and travel.


Registrations must be made on or before the following dates to ensure proper registration:

  • Alexandria and Oklahoma City: On or before January 28
  • Lexington and Reno: On or before February 4
  • Chicago and Orlando: On or before February 11

Event is subject to be SOLD OUT if maximum capacity is reached.

Note: Alumni & Guest registrations must be paid in full in order for registration to be complete.

Registration forms with incomplete information will not be processed.

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, AKPsi meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to the use and distribution of the registrant or attendees’ image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities by AKPsi and other third parties, including but not limited the venue, the host city and the host CVB.


Substitutions need to be received via the on-line substitution form according to the following schedule in order to confirm registration.

All substitutions are subject to a $5.00 processing fee per substitution.

  • Alexandria and Oklahoma City: On or before January 28
  • Lexington and Reno: On or before February 4
  • Chicago and Orlando: On or before February 11

On-site substitutions are subject to a $10.00 processing fee per substitution.

All cancellations must be made using the on-line cancellation form.

Cancellations are accepted according to the following schedule:

  • Alexandria and Oklahoma City:
    • On or before January 15 - $10 processing fee per cancellation
    • January 16 - January 28 - $15 processing fee per cancellation
  • Lexington and Reno:
    • On or before January 22 - $10 processing fee per cancellation
    • January 23 - February 4 - $15 processing fee per cancellation
  • Chicago and Orlando:
    • On or before January 29 - $10 processing fee per cancellation
    • January 30 - February 11 - $15 processing fee per cancellation

Cancellations made after the dates above will not receive refunds.

Students: All refunds, regardless of type of payment, will be credited to the student chapter account. It is then the responsibility of the student chapter to refund the individual.

Alumni: All refunds will be credited in the original form of payment.

Refunds are not granted for failure to attend, late arrival, unattended events or early departure. No refunds will be made for weather-related issues. Alpha Kappa Psi is not responsible for weather-related cancellations, airfare, hotel or other costs that are associated with the conference if the registrant is unable to attend.

Failure to attend does not relinquish individuals' responsibility of payment.

Cancellation Form


Business casual. No t-shirts, jeans, tennis shoes, caps or hats are permitted.


Each individual attending the PBLI is to read and sign a form contain a safety agreement and emergency contact information. This is done to ensure that our members are kept safe in the event of an emergency while on-site. Attendees do not need to sign the photographic release portion of the form. However, those not willing to sign the safety agreement may not attend the PBLI.


Chapter Advisors need to have 15 paid registrations to receive a complimentary registration fee. The CA is to register for PBLI and pay. The registration fee will be refunded via check. CAs are not to register as part of the student chapter and are not counted toward the tier discount for the chapter.

Section Directors need to have 5 paid registrations per each chapter that are in their section to receive a complimentary registration fee. The SD is to register for PBLI and pay. The registration fee will be refunded via check.

Refunds will be processed post-PBLI (end of February) and no later than March 15.

All official volunteers (those reported on or before January 15) are extended the early-bird registration rate regardless of the date of the registration.
